Booking & Terms of Payment

FORMS OF PAYMENT ACCEPTED:

  • Cash

  • eTransfer​

NON-HOLIDAY BOOKINGS

Just a regular calendar day

BOOKINGS: 

  • Full payment of services MUST be received via cash or eTransfer on day one of the service.  Should you need to shorten your booking before your service has started please let me know As Soon As Possible.

 

LAST MINUTE (1 - 5 days before start date) BOOKINGS

  • Full payment is due at the time of booking via eTransfer.

CANCELLATIONS

  • I understand that your plans change therefore a cancellation charge will not be implemented if I receive adequate notice of cancellation.  Adequate notice means more than 10 days prior to the service start date.

Note:  If less than 10 days notice is given, DOVI reserves the right to charge 25% of the total booking. 

This will be discussed at the time of the cancellation.

 

EARLY RETURNS (once service has started)

  • I understand that your plans may change but please understand that other clients may have been turned away for the dates booked for you.  Therefore, I ask that you let me know of any changes As Soon As Possible, a refund of 50% of the days remaining will be given.

DELAYED RETURNS

  • I will do everything in my power to accommodate your delay but please understand that I may have already scheduled another client and they may not be able to change their plans.  If I am able to accommodate your delayed return, client agrees to pay DOVI for the additional days. 

Note: A Last-Minute Extension Fee may be added if DOVI must double book or rearrange schedule. 

However, this will be discussed at the time the client advises that a delayed return is needed.

 

HOLIDAY BOOKINGS

Any calendar day that is considered a Canadian Holiday

 

BOOKINGS

  • A 50% deposit of the total booking MUST be received at the time of booking with the balance due on day one of your service.

LAST MINUTE (1 - 5 days before start date) BOOKINGS: 

  • Full payment is due at the time of booking via eTransfer.

 

CANCELLATIONS

  • Please understand that pet sitting services receive more requests during holiday time periods and I may have turned away other clients because I have booked time for you.  A minimum of 20 days advance notice prior to the service start date is required in order to receive your deposit back.

Note:  If less than 20 days notice is given, DOVI reserves the right to keep your deposit.

EARLY RETURNS (once service has started)

  • Same as above

DELAYED RETURNS

  • Same as above

LONG TERM BOOKINGS

Any bookings that are longer than two weeks (14 days)

BOOKINGS

  • A 50% deposit of the total booking MUST be received at the time of booking with the balance due on day one of your service.

  • If booking months in advance, we will discuss the date in which the 50% deposit is required.

LAST MINUTE (1 - 5 days before start date) BOOKINGS: 

  • Full payment is due at the time of booking via eTransfer.

 

CANCELLATIONS

  • Please understand that pet sitting services receive more requests during summer months / holiday time periods and I may have turned away other clients because I have booked time for you.  A minimum of 30 days advance notice prior to the service start date is required in order to receive your deposit back.

  • If booking months in advance, we will discuss the minimum date required.

DELAYED RETURNS

LATE / NON-PAYMENT: 
  • If full payment of service is not received on or by day one of the Start Date, the client will receive a friendly reminder email that full payment is due within 3 full days, of email reminder sent date, to avoid a 1.5% late fee.

  • If full payment of service is not received at the end of the 3rd day that the reminder email was sent and still not received by the end of the 3rd day after the End Date of service; client will receive a Late/Non-Payment email outlining the outstanding amount, including interest, and notice that if payment plus interest is not received by the end of 30 days from the first reminder email, the client information will be sent to collections.

Note:  A second occurrence of Late/Non-Payment will result in

no further service from Dogs of Vancouver Island.

POTENTIAL ADDITIONAL FEES:

  • Mileage

    • To be discussed at the time of booking​

    • Applied if your residence postal code is outside of a 15 km radius of V8Z 4B9

    • May apply during double bookings to cover travel back & forth.

    • Fee = $0.61/km

  • Cancellation (Non-Holiday Bookings)

    • To be discussed at the time of cancellation​

    • Applied if less than 10 days notice is given​​

    • Fee = 25% of the total booking

  • Cancellation (Holiday Bookings)

    • To be discussed at the time of cancellation​

    • Applied if less than 20 days notice is given​​

    • Fee = 50% Deposit will be kept

  • Last Minute Extension Fee (this is on top of the daily rate)

    • To be discussed at the time of extension request​

    • Applied if double booking is needed and extra kilometers are driven between jobs.

    • Fee = TBD

  • Early Return Fee

    • To be discussed at the time of early return notification​

    • Fee = 50% of days remaining days of service refunded
